OpenMZxy - The open Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI) control software

The picture above shows the imaging of terpenoids on a Zoapatle (Montanoa tomentosa) leaf, using OpenMZxy with a Low Temperature Plasma Ionization Mass Spectrometry (LTP-MSI) system. Zoapatle is used in traditional Mexican medicine to modulate uterine contraction and to increase sexual desire (aphrodisiac).

OpenMXxy can be used for the development of custom automated sampling and imaging applications. The control software supports the use of Phidgets for rapid prototyping.

WANTED: Open Source MSI Data Analysis Program!

MASSyPup contains software for most computational mass spectrometry tasks and also can be used for the generation of mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) datasets. However, there is no Open Source MSI data analysis program we are aware of. If you know one, please let us know: This email address is being protected from spambots. Download/ Installation

The current development branch can be found as a git project at Bitbucket.

For making the immediate use easy, OpenMZxy and the respective drivers are also included in the MASSyPup distribution.

Minimal hardware requirements

Well, OpenMZxy runs on a $35 USD Raspberry Pi  File:Raspberry Pi Logo.svg
